There is a place in God and in our dealings with God and His Word
where a person's believing becomes as tangible and as three-dimensional
as the physical world around him. In the world of faith and believing,
the impossible and insurmountable are very common occurrences. Natural
circumstances and situations melt like wax under the heavy onslaught of
faith in God's Word. The believer becomes a literal dictator when
confronted with "the affairs of this life"(Romans 5:17). To
that particular believer all things can be achieved. All situations
can be overcome and nothing is impossible. There is nothing in this
physical or even spiritual world that can contain or stop the believer(Romans
8:26-39; I John 4:4; I John 5:3-5). He and God are faithful companions.
In that place of "believing fellowship with God", the circumstances and
situations of earth life are absorbed by the "faith shock-absorbers" of
that person's faith in God's Word.
Let's look at some scriptures to substantiate these bold statements.
Matthew 17:19-20
The disciples came to Jesus and asked Him why they could not cast out
a spirit that had possessed a man's son. Jesus declares with laser-like
accuracy that the nature of their malfunction was their unbelief.
This type of unbelief will always result in failure. In our dealings
with humans, faith and believing may not mean very much, if anything at
all. But, when addressing spiritual matters, whether Satan or God,
your believing is directly related to your success or lack thereof.
Success in the realm of the unseen is determined primarily by how much
of God's Word we believe. Many people will say they truly believed,
yet their results indicate otherwise. Here is an observation I have
gleaned from my life of faith and believing: Manifestations do
not lie! What you received is what you believed. If you
received nothing from God then it is because you believed nothing toward
God(James 1:3-7; Romans 14:22). If you received something
then what you received is what you believed. This is a very plain
and simple barometer to help you determine where you are in your faith
and believing. Bible believing always produces Bible results.
In the past, when I have not received Bible results, I re-examined my Bible
believing. I discovered in every case that I was lacking in regards
to how I believed and to what I believed. The cure was a re-enforcement
of Bible truth in my heart(Romans 10:10). I did this by hearing
and listening to the Word of God aloud over and over and over and over
again. Whether I said it with my own mouth(Joshua 1:8) or
through listening to Bible preaching tapes. Romans 10:17 says
that "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". In
Mark 6:6 it says that Jesus "marvelled because of their unbelief".
As a result, it says that "he went round about the villages, teaching".
Bible teaching is the cure for Bible unbelief. Verse twenty of Matthew
chapter seventeen says: "and nothing shall be impossible unto you".
Romans 4:19
This scripture is very interesting in that it reveals the sheer power
of believing. It says that Abraham "considered not his own body
now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness
of Sarah's womb:". How does one not consider that which
is already dead? Actually with his and Sarah's condition, their situation
was twice dead. Irregardless of this "dead situation" his believing
prevailed and overpowered the deadness of that situation. This is
the type of believing that exudes from the presence of God. This
is the type of believing that glorifies God. This is the quality
of believing that will always give the devil fits. This is the type
of believing that will extricate you out of the most difficult of circumstances.
What is the source of this type of believing?: God's infallible,
immutable Word. Believe the Word instead of the circumstance.
You will not be ashamed(Romans 10:11-17). A footnote to this
type of Bible believing is this. Once you are in a place where you
believe the Word(and only the Word of God) many different things will occur
in your life of a "God and victory sort". Your Bible believing will
prevent many earth occurrences from happening to you(Psalms 91:7-13).
The Bible will leap out of its pages and will become a part of your everyday
life(Galatians 2:20,John 14:23). As a matter of truth, only
the Bible should be happening to you. The Bible alone will happen
to you when you only believe the Bible(Mark 5:36). It must
be the Word and nothing else you believe.
The more of the Bible one believes, the more of the Bible one receives. There are several major things that God's Word outlines for me to believe. These are to be highly active in my daily life. I will list several major items for your benefit.
1.
I must believe that the Bible is God talking to me(Romans
15:4; II Timothy 3:14-17; II Peter 1:19-21, Hebrews 4:12). I
cannot believe that it is some book written for my intellectual stimulation
or enjoyment. The Bible is God talking to you! The Bible is
God talking to me! If and when I want to hear from God, I go to His
word. This is His personal testimony about Himself, His world, His
love and His ways(John 3:8-13; John 3:31-36; I John 5:6-11).
Again, I must believe that the Bible is God talking to me. There
is great power made available to any human in believing this truth.
2.
I must believe in the name of Jesus Christ. God the Father
has highly exalted the name of Jesus and has given Him a name that is above
every name in existence(Philippians 2:9-11; Ephesians 1:21-23).
God the Father gave the believer(actually every person that will receive
it) the name of Jesus(Acts 4:12). It is for our benefit and
enjoyment. It is ours for prayer(John 14:12-14; John 15:16; John
16:23-24). It is ours for power over satan and his demons(Luke
10:17-19; Acts 3:1-10; Acts 16:16-18). It is ours for
every situation, under all circumstances for any condition(Colossians 3:17).
However, if we do not believe in the name of Jesus and if we have no faith
in the name of Jesus(Acts 3:16) then we forfeit by default all the victory
and power that is inherent in the wonderful name of Jesus. The Apostle
John in First John 5:13 declares the following:
"These things
have I written unto you that believe on the name of the son of God; that
ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name
of the son of God". I must, I must, I must believe on the
name of Jesus if I am to succeed as a believer.
3.
I must believe that what I say will come to pass(Mark 11:22-24;
Job 22:28; Joshua 1:8; II Corinthians 4:13; Romans 10:8-10).
Many believers want to talk doubt and unbelief and think that they will
please God with this type of existence. It does not work this way
with God. My words are as important to God as my salvation.
As a matter of truth, because of my salvation, my words should be different(Matthew
12:34-37). The second chapter of First Corinthians
graphically reminds me of these truths. It says in I Corinthians
2:6-7 the following: "Howbeit we speak wisdom among them
that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes
of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom
of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before
the world unto our glory". It continues in verse thirteen of the
same chaper with this statement of truth: "Which things also we speak,
not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual". It is obvious
that from these scriptures and many more like them that my conversation
should be a reflection of my identification with God. Not only do
I have a new heart but I also have a new tongue. II Corinthians
5:17 says that "...all things have become new". All things, not
just some things but all of me including my speech. I have a new
speech. I have new words. I have God's words upon my lips.
If I say that I believe God's Word, then I must also believe that
what I say consistent with God's Word will come to pass. Jesus was
an example of this when He said in John 6:63 that "the words that
I speak unto you, they(the words)are spirit and they are life". You
"believing what you say coming to pass" will eliminate many problem areas
associated with life on earth. I am certain that the spiritual health
many believers are seeking can be found in this powerful master principle.
It is a major key. Satan would love for the believer to be totally
ignorant about this area.
4.
I must believe in prayer. I have a phrase about believing
prayer: Prayer will get you there. God has given the
believer prayer as a means of fellowship and communication with Him.
It is our link to Heaven and the throne of God. It is a great, great
privilage. We must love prayer more than we love any earth activity.
Otherwise Satan will surely get the advantage on us. A prayerless
believer is a powerless believer. Angels move and flow with us as
we pray(Acts 12:5-16; Luke 22:41-45).
Believing in prayer will keep me in a state of prayer readiness.
Life on earh warrants a life of prayer. Earth is Satan's place of
operation(Revelation 12:6-17). It is where he kills, steals
and destroys(John 10:10). He walks to and fro through the
earth seeking who he may devour(I Peter 5:7-9; Job 1:7; Job 2:2).
Prayer is the medium through which our faith in God's word is conveyed.
It is the medium through which the name of Jesus is exercised(John 14:12-14;
John 15:16; John 16:23-24). It is the medium through which the
blood of Jesus shines in all of its cleansing, righteous-making power.
Prayer is a powerful reminder to the devil that the Father and His children
have truly become One(Ephesians 3:14-15). I must believe
in prayer.
There are legitimate and legal reasons why all things are possible to the believer. I believe that this particular message has brought you closer to understanding some of those reasons. Nothing is impossible to the believer. Our position in the heavenlies(Ephesians 1:19-22; Ephesians 2:1-10;Colossians 3:1-7) forces the matter to the forefront of my earth life. Once we understand and believe this position, we can know and experience as our manifest reality that all things are possible to the believer.
Please pray this prayer with me in regards to your believing. Father I pray that the eyes of this person's understanding would be enlightened. I pray that they would be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. I pray that they would see clearly the wonderful realities found in Your Word that their lives would be changed forever. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of what God is doing in your life(Philippians 2:13).
It is my prayer that this particular topic will help you in your endeavors with GOD. Any comments can be directed to me via e-mail, phone or conventional mail. Thank-you.
