The God of Miracles, Signs and Wonders

The purpose of this month's message is to strengthen your believing in God and His desire and ability to bless you with miracles. Miracles are not past because the God of miracles is not past. God will perform whatever you believe from His Word. If you do not believe in miracles, signs and wonders then you will never get miracles, signs and wonders from God. On the other hand, if you go to the Word of God and put the Word of God inside of you concerning miracles, signs and wonders then the Holy Ghost will perform miracles, signs and wonders.

The Holy Ghost wants to perform all kinds of miracles in the earth today. But He works with our believing. He wants to hear us SAY with our mouth and believe with our heart that miracles are for us today! As long as there is a God of miracles, there will be miracles.

Miracles of healing

On July 1994 I was asked to pray for a friend's grandmother. She was in her late 80's. She wanted prayer for her knees. At the time, I did not know that she had not walked without physical aid or support for the last 12 years. I prayed for her in the name of Jesus Christ and pulled her out of her chair(Acts 3:1-9). She walked immediately without any aid or support. God healed her instantly.

Another case in 1994 involved a woman who had been having Grand Mal seizures for the last 24 years. After seeking all types of medical help the family had concluded that they would just have to live with this condition for the rest of her life. We prayed for her in the name of Jesus Christ. She said that "something" warm went through her body from her head to her feet. She knew immediately that she was healed(Mark 5:29). Today she testifies to all of the miracle working power of God to any who will believe.

In April of 1999 we had special services where we prayed for people to experience Miracles in their lives. One Sunday service there was a gentleman of about 55 or 60 years of age. God revealed to me that he had cancer. The individual revealed to me that it was prostrate cancer. We prayed for him in the name of Jesus Christ. He told me the next day that after four years of constant pain, he was now totally free of any previous pain associated with the cancer. His brother informed me that he was able to do things that he had not been able to do in years.

One of the visitors to our church came for prayer in the behalf of her dog(yes, her dog). She said that her dog was experiencing convulsions and other abnormal behavior. She said that within 24 hours of our prayer, her dog was acting normal and perfectly well.

One of the businessmen in the church was on the verge of Bankruptcy in 1994. He was half a million dollars in debt and had no clue of recovery. I informed him that God wanted to recover his business. He was open to anything at this point because all else had failed. We prayed and within a few days he was getting contracts over the fax machine. In less than a year God was multiplying his business phenomenally. Today his contracts and business deals are in the millions.

We prayed for a brother whose newborn baby was given 5 days to live. They had not even named the child because the prognosis was so bleak. We prayed on a Wednesday night and the following Friday the baby came home. As of this writing the child is doing well in spite of the previous diagnosis.

I went home to visit my mother on mother's day. I noticed my cousin who had a major problem with his body. He had been shot in the back about 14 years prior. As a result, his L-3 vertebrae was destroyed resulting in continual back pain and a severe limp in his right leg. I asked if I could pray for him. He agreed. We prayed in the name of Jesus and spoke to his spinal cord and back. He told me that "something tingling" was going into his body. He informed me that the pain that he has had for the last 14 years was gone. I talked with him a week later and he said that he was walking pain-free and was using his legs more than he usually does as a result.

I also prayed for my cousin who had been admitted into the emergency room due to extremely high blood pressure(over 200 and 100). Her doctor ordered her not to return to work until her blood pressure was down. I prayed for her and she said immediately that "something hot" had gone into her body where my hand had touched her back and she believed that she was healed. She went to the doctor the following day and was told by the doctor that she could return to work on the next day. Her blood pressure was normal.

Recently(5-99), someone I know mentioned to me that their department was closing. Consequently, everyone in the department would be laid off and or be reassigned. She asked me if I would pray for her to get a new job. I was happy to do so. We stopped, thanked God for her new job with a raise and that it would be a great blessing. Within two weeks she discovered a job that was totally to her liking with a substantial increase in pay. She asked me if I thought that she could get the job. I told her that the job is a direct result of our prayers and that she would get it if she wanted it. A few days later she was offered the job.

In the same office there was an individual who wanted to sale their home. It had been on the market for six months and the contract was to expire in a few days. I asked her if she would like for me to pray that the house would be sold. She agreed. In less than two weeks they sold their house for only $1000.00 less than what they were asking. She was ecstatic.

A visitor to the church came up for prayer for an undisclosed issue. I told her that God was happy to perform the miracle she was requesting. We prayed in the name of Jesus Christ for a miracle in her behalf. The following week I was informed of the specific nature of her need. They were practically bankrupt financially. They had done everything they knew how to do(prayer, giving, sowing, fasting, asking others to pray, etc, but to no avail). They were on the verge of losing their house, car and other possessions. In less than 24 hours of our prayer, she received a unexpected financial deposit into her checking account by the IRS. God had moved miraculously on her behalf.

All throughout the month of May we have been praying for people to receive 20/20 vision in their eyes. We have been getting some outstanding results. Out of about 20 people for whom we have prayed, about half have returned and testified to having received at least improved vision. Many have said that they now see without their glasses. Many of the previously mentioned individuals have worn some type of visual aids since childhood. One woman was diagnosed with glaucoma and has been healed. These manifestations have been very interesting, to say the least. We are grateful to God for His ability to change any circumstance through our believing(Mark 9:23, Ephesians 3:20, Luke 1:37).

We were invited to share our testimony in South Hill, Virginia in the month of April. After sharing for a few minutes about how God has changed my life I asked if people were interested in receiving their miracle. There were about 25 to 30 people present. Almost every individual received an immediate miracle for some ailment or another. One man was healed of Arthritis pain throughout his body. Another man who had no neurological sensitivity on the entire left side of his body was healed. One woman had no range on her left rotator cup. She was healed. One person could not use his left hand due to a chain saw injury. He worked his hand freely before the entire group. One young man received the miracle of the new birth. There were many more. There was great joy in South Hill that night(Acts 8:8). The works of God were manifest and God was glorified among us(John 9:1-6).
