Examining the relationship between Trust and Confidence
Define trust-firm reliance upon the integrity, ability or character of a person or thing; putting your entire weight upon a thing without reservation, fear or concern of that thing failing you.
Define confidence-state or quality of being certain or assured of a thing
What happens when what you trusted works for you? Confidence in that thing that you trusted intensifies and increases dramatically.
The more you trust spiritual things the more confidence you have in spiritual things. The more you trust in the weapons of your warfare, the confident you become in the weapons of your warfare. Trust and confidence are intimate companions. They are two spiritual forces that help you produce more and more (John 15:7-8, Colossians 1:9-11, Matt. 13:23). Trusting a thing and that thing or person failing you produces a lack of confidence in the things or people you trusted. Once I learn to trust God and it works then my trust in God increases. Consequently my confidence in Him and the things of God increase. I become a great threat to the world of darkness and a great blessing to the Kingdom of God. Again all of this must developed at some point and expanded.
In the life of Paul for example in Acts 26:1-22-His trust and confidence in God increased with each victory and success-II Tim. 4:16-17
Learning to trust spiritual things is the same as learning to trust physical things.
Trusting living by your faith in God-Romans 1:16-17-the just shall live by his faith-trusting your confessions, your words. Develop this.
Trusting the salvation of God-Hebrews 1:9-13, Hebrews 10:1-19
Hebrews 2:1-5 (the world to come), Hebrews 6:4-5, 9-12 the powers of the world to come
Lay hold on eternal life-I Timothy 6:12, 19, Hebrews 6:18, Colossians 3:1-3, II Peter 1:5-12, James 1:21
