Trusting God

Trust is defined as “firm reliance on the integrity, ability or character of a person or thing”.

Trust manifests itself by allowing someone or some thing to act in your behalf or support you in some way; allowing a person or thing to do something for you; i.e. allowing God to work for you is a manifestation of your trust in His and or His integrity, ability or character.

Trust gives a person or thing an opportunity to work in your behalf or to prove themselves in your behalf.  Therefore, trusting in the Lord is you saying that you are giving Him an opportunity to work in your behalf.

Trusting God instead of man or things-(Psalm 20:7, Daniel 6:1-10, 13-23, Psalm 21:1-7)-Because of the law of the Medes and Persians, King Darius could not help Daniel even though he was the King and his friend.

What happens when we trust God instead of man? (Jeremiah 17:5-8, Daniel 3:17-18, 28-30; Proverbs 3:5-6, I Tim. 6:17)

  1. We should trust the scriptures-Psalm 119:105
  2. We should trust our prayers (Luke 23:45-47, II Chronicles 20:5-12 vs. 12, trusting God through believing prayer)
  3. We should trust our words (Matt. 12:34-36, Proverbs 18:20-21).
  4. We should trust our giving (Acts 10:1-8, II Corinth. 9:6-14).
  5. We should trust our assignments (Acts 16:6-10, I Samuel 15:22-23, Acts 4:19-20, Acts 5:29).
  6. We should trust His guidance (Psalm 32:8, Psalm 78:72, Psalm 23:1-6, Romans 8:14-15, Psalm 107:1-7)

Trusting man, money or your own abilities is a trap to believers! Mark 10:23-25, Matthew 13:23, Mark 4:19

I have God.  My trust is in His Word.  I’m all trusted out!  I have emptied myself of all and any trust and poured it out unto the Lord.

Can God trust you to obey Him and His Word? (John 14:15, Genesis 18:17-19, Acts 18:9-11, Acts 22:17-21, Acts 23:10-13, Acts 26:13-19)
