What is a vision?
What is a visionary?
American Heritage Dictionary-Third Edition
A missionary is a visionary with an executable plan. A missionary takes his vision and carries it out. Therefore a missionary can be called a visionary in action.
What does the Bible say about vision?
Proverbs 29:18-also in the amplified.
Habakkuk 2:1-4
Vision and Galatians 6:9, Genesis 15:1-6, Genesis 26:1-14-See the Harvest before there is a harvest.
What is a plan? A plan is a course of action. A scheme, program or method worked out before to accomplish an objective.
What does the Bible say about plans? Psalm 37:5, Proverbs 16:3, Proverbs 20:18 all in amplified Bible.
A plan removes fear. Having a plan contributes greatly to fear being removed concerning the future and future events.
Only do what you PLAN on doing. Plan the work. Work the plan.
Make choices and decisions that relate to your visions. (Hebrews 11:24-27-Moses and his choices).
Your #1 mission is to make plans based upon your vision.
How does vision relate to the future?
Visions and dreams are synonymous terms. You see invisible things. (Hebrews 11:7, II Corinth. 5:7, II Corinth. 4:18, Genesis 37:5-10
Genesis 15:1-6
Your vision IS your future!!!!
A Vision and a Plan go hand in hand.
A Vision without a plan leaves an empty hand.
A plan without a vision, there’s something missing.
Plan-what you do now for later. What you do today for tomorrow.
A vision is belief and a plan is faith.
Vision is the future in your eyesight.
Vision is seeing. Noah-Hebrews 11:7; Moses-Hebrews 11:27; II Corinth. 5:7; II Corinth. 4:18
Focus is essential to the successful execution of your vision-Matt. 6:2-23, Philippians 3:1-14, I Corinth. 9:24-27
Clarity of vision is also very important. (Mark 8:21-25)
The Ten Virgins-Matt. 25:1-10-vision-marriage; plan-go, meet the bridegroom with lamps with oil.
Can you see it?
Blindness is not seeing. II Peter 1:9, Romans 2:19, Matt. 15:12-14. When the blind lead the blind they both fall into a ditch. Are you in a ditch?
You have to know “why” somewhere in the equation.
I used to say the following:
I know that this has value and has worth but I don’t know where it is taking me.
I have a destiny but I don’t know what it is.
I know I’m supposed to be doing something but I don’t know what it is.
I could not “see” it. Consequently, I did not believe.
The above is basically hoping.
Saying things like I know that I will be great one day (if it is one day then it is hope or a dream) but great at what.
Faith is specific.
Phrases like “one day” or hopefully or maybe or perhaps or eventually are “hope”/dream statements.
Don’t tell me about a vision without a plan. Don’t tell me a plan without a vision. The two are essential to each other’s mutual existence.
Follow success! Stop following failure! Hebrews 6:10-12
Examples of hope:
I want to get married one day.
I want to own my own business one day.
Seeing things changes people’s lives. Examples: Isaiah 6:1-9, Acts 9:1-10, Acts 10: 1-15, Acts 26:17-19, Genesis 15:1-6.
When there is a revelation, there is a revolution.
How does one formulate a vision?
1. What do you talk about to yourself or others the most?
How important is your vision to you? What type of priority do you put on your vision being accomplished? Jacob’s vision took a back seat to pleasing Laban (Genesis 28:11-22; Genesis 29:20-28; Genesis 31:36-42).
What is your vision for the following? What do you see yourself doing with:
What is your plan for the following?
No Christian vision or plan is complete without committing it to the Lord in prayer.
Proverbs 3:5-6, Genesis 28:18-22, I Chronicles 4:9-10, Psalm 37:4-5
